After we build the foundation of understanding ourselves, our needs, our pitfalls, our bodies, and what we need to fuel them with; then we can begin to examine the physical aspect of wellness.
Bicep curls, isolation machines, and treadmills all have their place, but in order to live a fulfilling lifestyle we have to be able to be functional. By functional I mean, we have to be able to pick up our kids when they are screaming on the floor, or carry a sack of dog food from the grocery store on our shoulder without dropping it. I believe that the human body was built to be able to adapt, change, and fulfill any objective that we aspire to. But functional movement, is the absolute key to developing a strong body and healthy lasting lifestyle.
